Mulberry Paper, also known as Cotton Paper, is a resilient and versatile type of paper with Oriental origins. It is produced using long fibers obtained through the maceration of the bark from the Paper Mulberry tree (Broussonetia Papyrifera). The sheets of Mulberry Paper have deckle edges, which are the characteristic irregular edges found in handmade papers. This feature adds charm to the paper, which has multiple uses in artistic, craft, and decorative fields. The irregular edges can be achieved by tearing the paper (whether dry or wet), highlighting the length of the fibers that compose it and giving it its alternative name: cotton paper. Mulberry Paper is available in solid colors and also decorated with floral inserts (flowers, petals, leaves) or raised textures achieved through special processing methods.
